It’s Not Too Late for Braces
As an adult, you may not think that braces are right for you. Even if you get braces, they can get in the way of your appearance and your daily life. Fortunately, at Alpha Dental Practice, we offer Invisalign, a discreet and convenient alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign can make you feel proud of your smile, a feeling you don’t want to miss.
Should You Get Invisalign?
Invisalign is a great option for many people, but not all cases can be treated with clear aligner therapy. During your consultation, Dr. Assi will be able to tell you if your smile can be corrected with Invisalign.
Invisalign aligners can be a great option for patients wanting to fix the following teeth issues:
- Mild to moderate alignment issues
- Gaps between teeth
- Correcting an overbite
One of the most common uses for Invisalign for adults is to treat orthodontic relapse. If you’ve previously had braces but your teeth have shifted out of position, clear braces are ideal for correcting them again.
Am I too old for Invisalign?
There’s no specific age requirement for Invisalign. You can be a candidate no matter your age. As long as patients are serious about wanting to improve their smile and overall oral health, we encourage you to consider clear aligner therapy.
Does insurance cover Invisalign treatment?
Most dental insurances will cover at least a portion of your Invisalign treatment expenses. It’s important to check with your provider for a more detailed understanding of your coverage. We’re always happy to help if you have questions or concerns about your insurance. Contact our office at (954)-603-3508 and one of our team members will be happy to assist you.
What Invisalign Can Do for You
Invisalign involves a variety of benefits, including:
- A Quick Treatment – While any orthodontic treatment will take less time in a younger, more malleable mouth, treatment with clear aligners can often be completed in 12 months. That’s about half the time as traditional braces.
- Nearly Invisible – The aligners are almost completely clear, ensuring that you won’t have to worry about your smile’s appearance during your daily life.
- Removable – Invisalign aligners can be removed during eating and drinking, meaning you won’t have to restrict certain foods like you have to with traditional braces.
The main Invisalign treatment method is designed for adults. In fact, Invisalign features a separate line for teenagers called Invisalign Teen that cater to their growing mouths. To learn more, click here.
Will Invisalign treatment take longer for adults?
Though orthodontic treatment is typically faster for younger patients, adults can still expect a fast and effective Invisalign treatment. Patients should expect their treatment to last between 12 and 18 months, depending on certain factors.
Invisalign as an Adult: What’s It Like?
Getting Invisalign is a much different process than getting traditional wire braces. Dr. Assi will make a mold of your mouth, which will be used to shape your first set of clear aligners. Once they’re ready, you’ll come back to our Coral Springs office to pick them up. You’ll wear these aligners at all times, except while you eat and drink.
You’ll wear this first set of aligners for an allotted time period – usually around two weeks. Then you’ll come back to pick up your next set, which will continue to straighten your teeth. You’ll repeat this process until your teeth are where you and your dentist want them to be.
After you’ve finished with your final set of clear aligners, you’ll need to wear a retainer for some time. That’s how simple it is to get Invisalign as an adult, all while transforming your smile into one you’re proud to show off!
