Dr. Maya G. Assi, DMD
Ever since she was little, Dr. Maya Assi has been interested in dentistry. Her mother was a dentist, so she developed an appreciation for the profession she would ultimately pursue. Dr. Assi is particularly fascinated by the way dentistry creates a bridge between science and creativity.
After witnessing her mother’s success, Dr. Assi’s goals for her life evolved into a burning desire to open her own dental practice. So, she decided to go to dental school at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine where she completed her doctor of dental medicine (DMD) degree in 2007.
In 2011, Dr. Maya Assi got her wish — co-founding Alpha Dental with her husband, Dr. Tarek Assi. She believes there’s nothing better than the way she feels every time she’s rewarded with a happy smile from a satisfied patient. For Dr. Maya Assi, Dr. Tarek Assi, and our whole team at Alpha Dental, our patients come first.
To provide our patients with a pleasant therapeutic experience, Dr. Maya Assi focuses on making you feel comfortable. She understands that patients feel much more at ease about their treatment when it’s carefully explained to them in advance.
It helps that Dr. Maya Assi can communicate with a wide variety of patients because she’s fluent in four languages besides English (Spanish, Creole, Arabic, and French).

Our Advanced Technology
Alpha Dental is a preferred Invisalign provider. That means Dr. Maya Assi has treated over 100 patients using Invisalign and she works with at least 50 Invisalign patients every year.
Our patients really appreciate seeing in advance how their new smile will look. Using the iTero intraoral scanner, Dr. Assi will create a 3D digital impression of your new smile that you can view on a computer screen.
The iTero scanner offers superior results in less time than the conventional method which requires dentists to build an actual physical model of your smile.
Using the iTero scanner, we create a detailed treatment plan so each aligner is perfectly designed to fit your smile. Dr. Assi’s precise treatment plan will only move the teeth needed to give you a perfect smile. Our technology enables us to view the effects of your treatment and make alterations to your plan
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I go to an orthodontist or a dentist for Invisalign?
While an orthodontist generally provides braces and can provide Invisalign, dentists can also be Invisalign providers. This can be more convenient for many people because a dentist’s office can provide more services under one roof.
Instead of having to drive to a different location for your Invisalign treatment, you can simply visit your regular dentist. Your dentist already knows you and your oral health situation, so it’s easier to get personalized treatment.
What is the Invisalign tier level?
The Invisalign tier level is a system that categorizes providers by their experience. The more successful cases a provider has completed, the higher their rank will be. This makes it easier for you to choose an Invisalign provider who can give you the smile you want.
Dr. Maya Assi is a preferred Invisalign provider, meaning that she’s experienced enough to regularly treat patients using clear aligners. She’s maintained this status by continuing to help patients to love their smiles every year.
Can I do Invisalign without a dentist?
No, the Invisalign system is only available through certified providers such as dentists or orthodontists. Treatment through a dentist’s office ensures your smile is safe and going according to plan throughout the whole process.
While there are at-home aligners that have become available recently, they’re not recommended because they can lead to serious risks. Virtual aligner check-up appointments can’t provide a thorough enough examination to detect potential problems.
