The Ultimate Patient Guide to
Invisalign® is a remarkable way to get the smile you really want. It’s also faster and much more comfortable than regular metal braces. Live with freedom and confidence — in your smile and the way it makes you feel.
Our precision aligners are the result of over 20 years of Invisalign research and innovation. That’s what makes our aligners the superior smile-straightening option — giving you the smile you want fifty percent faster than the alternatives.
Best of all, our cutting-edge technology makes the results of your treatment more precise and predictable. We can even show you a digital picture of what your final results will be before we begin the treatment process.
Perfection Begins With Your Consultation
The secret driving factor of Invisalign is precision.
As part of your consultation, you’ll be provided with a dental examination. Using our iTero Element® scanner, Dr. Assi will create a detailed 3D image of your smile.
Unfortunately, many dental practices still use an antiquated method for taking dental impressions. This frequently requires the patient to sit in a chair for a prolonged period of time waiting for the putty-like substance in their mouth to harden.
Once we have a digital impression of your smile, Dr. Maya Assi will develop your treatment plan. She’ll use millions of data points from previous Invisalign cases to create the smile that’s right for you.
Previewing Your New Smile
Would it influence your decision if you could see your new smile before treatment begins?
Well, thanks to Invisalign, you can do just that. Dr. Maya Assi uses advanced technology to predict the movement of your teeth throughout the entire realignment period. She can show you detailed digital images of your entire course of treatment, including how your smile will look when we’re finished.
This revolutionary technology provides predictable results you can rely on.
“I drive from Miami to go to Dr. Maya Assi. She is gentle, thorough and I feel safe in her hands.”
Your Custom Aligners
Made from the innovative SmartTrack® material, our Invisalign aligners sit discretely and comfortably in your mouth. Using our precision technology, we trim each aligner to ensure a perfect fit. Before you get them, each aligner is inspected to guarantee they meet the high-quality Invisalign standards.
Dr. Maya Assi will be with you throughout the Invisalign process. When you start using your first set of clear aligners, she’ll make sure they fit well. She’ll also see to it that you have a clear understanding of how your treatment will progress.
Enjoying Life With Your New Smile
Our patients really appreciate how easy it is to fix your smile with Invisalign. Every few weeks you’ll receive a brand new set of aligners and all you have to do is wear them.
For optimal results, Dr. Maya Assi recommends wearing your Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day — only removing them to eat and drink. As your teeth straighten, you can continue to eat your favorite foods, play your favorite sports, and do everything else you love doing.
Live freely knowing that you’re on your way to a beautiful new smile that you’ll be happy to share.
Maintaining Your Aligners
The days of emergency dental visits to remedy a broken bracket or a snagged wire are over. With the Invisalign system, keeping your aligners clean and clear is easy. You simply brush your aligner gently with a toothbrush at night to ensure they stay fresh.
You’ll return to Alpha Dental for a checkup with Dr. Maya Assi every six to eight weeks or so. Dr. Assi will carefully monitor your progress and make sure your aligners fit correctly. She’ll also provide you with a new batch of aligners.
“A staff to be honored! Dr. Maya Assi is not just professional & skilled in what she does, they are gifted & show love in their work, on their patients, & in their “family” of staff.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Invisalign hurt?
Invisalign may hurt because your teeth are being pushed into a new position in your mouth. While this won’t cause severe pain, you may feel uncomfortable. This can be especially noticeable when you switch to a new set of aligners.
Pain from orthodontic correction can usually be managed through over-the-counter pain medications. If you feel severe pain that interferes with your daily activities, call our office at 954-603-3508 so Dr. Assi can assess your situation and provide help.
Who is not a candidate for Invisalign?
You’re not a candidate for Invisalign if your teeth require significant movement. While Invisalign is a great option for many people, they’re best for cases where teeth don’t need to be shifted too much. That’s why they’re great for people who have previously had braces, but whose teeth have shifted since.
You also may not be a candidate for Invisalign if you might have trouble sticking to the treatment. Invisible aligners rely heavily on your ability to keep track of wearing them and on following guidelines from your dentist.
Will Invisalign correct an overbite?
Yes, Invisalign can help correct an overbite in some cases. Whether your overbite can be corrected with Invisalign depends on the severity of your case and on your commitment to treatment.
At your consultation, Dr. Assi will examine your mouth to assess your needs. She’ll let you know if Invisalign can help with your overbite and how long your treatment may take. If you follow her instructions and commit to your Invisalign treatment, your overbite can be corrected.
Will Invisalign help TMJ?
Yes, Invisalign can help with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues. If your jaw hurts, one of the causes could be a malocclusion. When your teeth aren’t properly aligned, this can cause undue stress on your jaw and lead to problems.
Straightening your teeth can help you to feel more confident and comfortable. Even if it doesn’t completely cure your TMJ problems, it’s likely to make a difference in your treatment.
